Experience unforgettable winter days in Jaun, surrounded by the fascinating mountain world at the foot of the Gastlosen. Just a few minutes' drive from the Hotel Wasserfall, fantastic ski slopes await you in a location with guaranteed snow. The clearly laid out family ski lift is easily accessible and ideal for young and old alike.
Between November and early February, you can marvel at a special natural spectacle: at certain times, the sun shines through the legendary Grossmutterloch (Grandmother's Hole) in the Gastlosen mountains – a unique spectacle that is not to be missed.
For cross-country skiing enthusiasts, the cross-country skiing centre in Im Fang offers equipment hire and courses. You have direct access to the trails just a few metres from the hotel. This allows you to start your tour through the snow-covered landscape in a relaxed manner.
The Jaun Pass is a true paradise for snowshoers and winter hikers. Well-marked trails lead you through a fairytale winter landscape. Easily accessible by bus or, if booked in advance, by taxi, nothing stands in the way of your nature experience.

Discover Jaun and its surroundings directly from the Hotel Wasserfall. Here, your nature experience begins right on your doorstep: unspoilt landscapes, cosy mountain buvettes and an authentic way of life in the heart of the Fribourg Pre-Alps await you. The Gastlosen Express chairlift is only a 20-minute walk away and takes you directly to the heart of the hiking and climbing area – also conveniently accessible by bus, which stops right in front of the hotel.
Whether on foot, by mountain bike or on a road bike, a world of possibilities opens up around Jaun. Hike through the impressive Gastlosen area, explore the typical limestone cliffs while climbing, or start your next bike tour through the diverse region between Jaun, Charmey and Schwarzsee. For road cycling enthusiasts, the Jaun Pass and the route over the Mittelberg offer sporting challenges with spectacular views. And for special cultural moments, it's worth taking a detour to the nearby Cantorama concert hall.

If you stay for three nights or more, your travel is free. Thanks to our partnership with the Gruyère Pays d’Enhaut Nature Park, we will cover the cost of your journey by public transport.
Jaun is also easily accessible by public transport: from Fribourg, take the train via Bulle to Broc and then change to the bus. From the other side, you can come via the Jaun Pass, also by bus, with train connections from Bern and Spiez.
